WOW! A Federal Christmas Miracle!
I’m very surprised and pleased that the government realized their own flaw in the policy.
Best of luck to Jeanne!

Isn’t it amazing how much can be accomplished when we work together as a community? Thanks for your comments, David.

Sanity?! Community?! You, sir, have a skewed definition of the word ‘community’! And what of the person awarded the job based on merit?! She too is a VOTING member of your community, of your constituency. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Thank you for your coments. To me the issue is simple: “What are the criteria for performing the position?” As I understand, the current person performing the position is fully qualified except that she is not bilingual. Canada Post is now reviewing that requirement (as in the above press release). If it is determined that bilingualism is required, then I would accept your comments on “merit”.
This is indeed an unfortunate situation which I feel could have been avoided had Canada Post done this review before causing such stress to their employees. That’s where the shame should lie.

I appreciate your response and will say simply that the stress of this situation was not, in my opinion, caused by Canada Post following their protocol but by sour grapes and a misplaced sense of entitlement. I do sincerely hope that things work out for the best and that whatever is decided, this community can rally behind BOTH these neighbours!
