We have been informed by Canadian Pacific that they have received two “expressions of interest” in continuing the operation of the rail line. They are currently investigating to ensure these expressions are valid and if so they are required to negotiate over the next six months. We will continue to monitor the situation on a regular basis.

I spent some time on Saturday at the Pakenham Home Show. There were lots of questions on town issues and it was great to be able to answer them face-to-face. I was also pleased to hear from some residents that they were interested in seeking office in the upcoming election. The town will be holding an information session later on in the summer for prospective candidates.
